How to spend 5 Days in Grand Cayman
Grand Cayman: Must dine, Must Do and more…
Grand Cayman, the largest of the three Cayman Islands, is a tropical paradise renowned for its stunning beaches, vibrant marine life, and rich cultural heritage. Whether you're a thrill-seeker, a nature lover, or someone seeking relaxation, Grand Cayman offers a plethora of activities and attractions to suit every interest.
When traveling to Grand Cayman there it is very common that are only select few flights landing daily into the Cayman Islands. Typically when we go we land in the early afternoon. So we always have the same plan on the books—get to the hotel, check in, and head directly to the beach!
The last two trips to the Grand Cayman we have stayed along seven mile beach at the Westin Grand Cayman.
The hotel offers a wide variety of watersports. From paddleboarding and kayaking to jet skiing and parasailing, Grand Cayman provides endless opportunities for water sports. Whether you're a beginner or an expert, there's something for everyone to enjoy.
Beaches and Natural Beauty
Seven Mile Beach
This iconic stretch of sand is often hailed as one of the best beaches in the world. With its crystal-clear turquoise waters and soft white sand, Seven Mile Beach is perfect for sunbathing, swimming, or simply enjoying a leisurely stroll.
Stingray City
A visit to Stingray City is a must for any visitor. This unique attraction allows you to get up close and personal with friendly stingrays in their natural habitat. Snorkeling here offers an unforgettable experience as you swim alongside these gentle creatures. We did the excursion to stingray city via Captain Marvin’s Watersports. We charted a large boat for our group so that we are able visit multiple sites and go to lunch!
Barker’s National Park
We ventured to Barker’s National Park this year and was blown away by this area. We ventured down the back road via the Jeeps we rented and found the perfect spot where kite surfers hang out. It was really neat because we were finding conch shells left and right. We rent our jeeps from Hertz so that we full freedom to cruise the island.
Blow Holes— Head south of seven mile beach to see some amazing views and natural Blow Holes!
Underwater Adventures
Scuba Diving and Snorkeling
Grand Cayman is a haven for divers, boasting over 200 dive sites. The island's coral reefs and shipwrecks provide a vibrant underwater world to explore. Snorkelers can enjoy the colorful marine life just a short swim from the shore.
Cayman Turtle Centre
For those interested in marine conservation, the Cayman Turtle Centre provides an educational experience about the island's efforts to protect and preserve sea turtles. Visitors can learn about the life cycle of turtles and even interact with them.
Day 1: We flew in the early afternoon and got checked in! We had a game plan for the day which was BEACH immediately until it was time to get read for dinner. We ordered on the beach and it is super easy to charge everything to your room! Dont forget sunscreen here and be prepared for a daily rain shower!
Dinner was Mykonos Steak Club and when I say this was a TOP FIVE dining experience I am so serious. The service, food, aesthetic, drinks and more were perfection. I highly recommend dining here and eating everything you possibly can. Also don’t miss the bathrooms because they are make the entire experience TOP NOTCH! You can see our experience here!
Day 2 Jeep Day is the BEST day
We rent our jeeps from Hertz so that we can use them like rental cars but explore the island and be our own tour guides. Be aware that this is a British Virgin Island so they do drive on the opposite side of the road. We started our day heading north on the island to Macabuca Tiki Bar. We enjoyed lunch and the amazing views of the coast line. the wind was crazy so we couldnt sit out on the pier of the restaurant due to the powerful waves splashing!
After lunch we kept heading north and found a beach club/hotel on the water! We pulled in for a drink and the views and vibes were perfect for our day! Nova was gorgeous and I would most definetly go back!
As I discussed above after this we headed to the Barker’s National park. On the GPS I entered Ristorante Pappagallo. There will be a road that turns into a dirt back road and we followed that to the Kite Surfing beach and it was magical! We found so many conch shells and got to see so many gorgous beaches.
After the national park we headed back south to the blow holes but not before we grabbed some amazing food at Heritage Kitchen! We ordered a TON to share and it was all delicious! The blow holes south on island is something I highly suggest always to people visiting and a must see!
Day 3 Chill Day
Brunch at Tillies to start the day is my favorite. Alway s a one of a kind experience. I love this spot and would love to actually stay in the hotel this restaurant is located at. After brunch we walked on the beach back to the Westin and just chilled poolside all day!
For dinner we went to a restaurant called Catalina. I would go back for sure! The vibes were great and sushi was perfection!. This restaurant is also in a hotel and they have a great pool also!
Day 4
This ws originaly our catamaran boat day and we opted for the beach party instead. It was so nice ot just relax in the ocean and sip vodak waters! We literally had zero plans for the day and just CHILLED. The conference events started this day so dinner was with the conference. They reserve an entire restaurant and we are bused there. Dinner is at Grand Old House and it has the most beautiful views of the sunsets!
Day 5
This was my final day at the Westin and I booked myself for the spa and I am so glad I did. the best way to go home is relaxed! We just chilled poolside all day so it was perfection! Dinner was also with the conference we are were in attendence of so it was the perfect day to just relax and stroll into dinner with our group! I went to bed early this evening in prepartion for travel the next day!
