HI LADIES! Are you planning a bachelorette party in Southern Illinois!? Well let me HELP YOU! I recently had some chats in my DMs about what to do and where to stay when coming in town for a bachelorette party specifically Lake of Egypt! I know so many people want to go to places like Nashville, Miami, Charleston, Mexico, etc! Well lets chat Southern Illinois and why it is perfect for your next girls trip! 1. It is 2 hours from St Louis, 6 hours from Kansas City, a flight from Chicago and 3 hours from Nashville! It is super centrally located! 2. It is much more cost effective than flying all over the country like a bunch of crazy people! 3. IT IS SO FUN AT LAKE OF EGYPT!.
Lodging: Lake of Egypt
Ok there are loads of airbnb’s now on Lake of Egypt but I have narrow down two houses that I think are perfect for any type of girls weekend or really just a getaway with a large group! But first off is the cutest pink themed bachelorette party house! The house sleeps ten and is so on brand for what you are celebrating.
Now maybe you have more than 10 but less than 20—check out the house we stayed in for the CUC retreat. It sleeps 18, has a massive, kitchen, gathering space on the patio and a boat dock!

Alright look no further than the most Pinterest worthy decor with my girls over at Poppy & Vine! I entrust these ladies with all of my events! Whether small or large they can tackle it ALL!
Food & Drinks: Southern Illinois
If you are looking for catering & bar options for your girls weekend I know just the people to talk to! Also my biggest suggestion for any event that you are all traveling to is to instacart your groceries. A great option always is a grazing table so bringing in Faye/17th Street to set this up for you is HUGE! It is a stunner and your guests will LOVE IT! Another cool thing to have one night is a bar tender come to the house! My friends over at The Proper Pour have a mobile bar that is so cute and such a fun aspect to have at your events. We snagged the sweets treats from Cakes by Ally.
Boating: Lake of Egypt
There are a few boating options available at Lake of Egypt if you are wanting to rent! I have never used THIS company but It comes highly recommended. Mack’s Marina also offers boat rentals for daily rates! The Marion KOA formally known as The Resort also offers pontoon rentals. And truly so much more! Be sure to check out by entertainment section! Other companies that rent boats include Weiner Rides and Big Worms. Another thing I have requests for is a boat captain. There is one person I know of and his name is Rodney and he is called Rodney’s Pontoon Captain. His number is 618-670-0251. If you are going to have someone in your group drive the boat I highly suggest making sure they are up to date on the rules of the lake and basic boater safety!
Entertainment: Lake of Egypt
When I was chatting with a follower in my DMs about things to do at night I always suggest one of the marinas. Typically one of them always has LIVE music! Pyramid Acres or Just Add Water do a really good job at having events on the weekends. Be sure to check both of their Facebook pages to stay up to date on events! The Resort usually has something going on whether it be a band or live music or just activities to do! While this area is a much more slower paced and calmer night life than the cities it is still SO MUCH FUN! On Sundays at The Resort they host lake side yoga provided by Aspire Yoga!
I am sure I am missing 10000 things but I truly think that this area is so perfect for a weekend getaway to make memories to last a lifetime. It is a beautiful region with truly so much to do! Let me know if you have specific questions or recommendations for other vendors! Happy Planning!
